The Cooking Professor is now back from his fact finding trip to France and is pleased to announce the dates and details for his first Cooking School Tour to Paris. He has put together a very full and exciting 8 day gourmet food adventure and we invite you to join him on an unforgettable journey to the Food Capital of the World!

The Cooking Professor has chosen a comfortable and friendly 3 star hotel, Paname Hotel Bastille, in the very authentic and lively 12th arrondissement close to Place de La Bastille and between Place du Faubourg Saint Antoine and Place d’Aligré with its renowned Parisian markets. This is a colourful, multicultural area full of wonderful food experiences, numerous restaurants, trendy bars, cinemas, theatres and the prestigious Bastille Opera.

DAY 1 - Monday 27th September

After 1pm - Arrival at Paname Hotel Bastille, 64 Rue Crozatier Paris 75012

(Make own travel arrangements to Paris & Paname Hotel.)

The Cooking Professor will meet you in the Hotel Lobby and present you with your “Gourmet Paris Pack.” Afternoon at leisure.

6pm Welcome Drinks (on Roof Terrace weather permitting) and introduction to fellow gourmets

7pm Traditional French dinner at local Parisienne Bistro, especially selected for its friendliness and authenticity to tradition.

DAY 2 - Tuesday 28th September

Breakfast from 7.00am in Paname Hotel Breakfast Room.

8.00am Half of the group (group A) will go by Metro with the Cooking Professor to Montmartre to meet Chef Eric Fraudeau for a guided market tour and tasting, followed by a hands-on cooking lesson at the Cook’n with Class Cooking School using produce bought at the markets to create a multicourse lunch with selected French regional wine.

Finish around 2.30pm.

Afternoon and evening at leisure to explore Montmartre, or other Paris sights.

9.15am The other half of the Group (group B) will go with the Cooking Professor’s wife to meet the famous Miss Lunch, Claude Cabri, for a guided tour and tasting at the Marché Beauvau St Antoine and the Aligré street markets. This will be followed by a hands-on cooking class and at her nearby loft to produce a multicourse lunch which will also include a tutored wine tasting. Finish around 2.30pm

Afternoon and evening at leisure to further explore the local area or other Paris sights.

DAY 3 - Wednesday 29th September

Breakfast between 7.00am and 9.00am at Hotel Paname.

9.30am Departure for La Madeleine on the Metro.

Visit the many gourmet food shops in the 8th & 9th arrondissements, including Fauchon, Hediard, La Maison de la Truffé, La Boutique Maille, Printemps and Galleries Lafayette food halls. All free to wander at leisure to explore this wonderful neighbourhood.

1.30pm Group reassembles for Metro ride to Montmartre.

2.00pm Full group Baking Class at Cook’n with Class Cooking School. Learn the art of French pastry making with master chef, Pino Ficcara. Three hour, hands-on lesson, finishing with light meal.

6.30pm Wine and cheese tasting by enthusiastic French Sommelier, Frederic Navennec in his small specialist wine shop in Montmartre.

DAY 4 - Thursday 30th September

Breakfast from 7.00am in Paname Hotel Breakfast Room.

8.00am Half of the group (group B) will go by Metro with the Cooking Professor’s wife to Montmartre to meet Chef Eric Fraudeau for a guided market tour and tasting, followed by a hands-on cooking lesson at the Cook’n with Class Cooking School using produce bought at the markets to create a multicourse lunch with wine. DAY 5 - Friday 1st October

Rungis Wholesale Market Tour

4.30am departure from Paname Hotel (time tbc).

Travel by minibus to Europe’s largest wholesale food market to meet English speaking guide. Visit main food hall, dairy pavilion, meat pavilion, fruit and vegetable hall & the flower pavilion. Breakfast at the market.

Estimated arrival back at hotel 9.30am

Rest of day at leisure or to sleep!

6.30 pm Assemble in lobby for short walk to local acclaimed gourmet restaurant for special degustation menu.

DAY 6 - Saturday 2nd October

Breakfast from 7.00am in Paname Hotel Breakfast Room. Sleep in or morning at leisure.

12.30pm Assemble in Lobby for short walk to “Lunch in Loft” a memorable long table lunch with Miss Lunch.

7pm to 7.00am Nuite Blanche - for the true art lovers, bohemians and adventurous in the group. Paris stays open all night for this free Arts extravaganza which happens all over the city on this one night of the year, (and we will be in town!!). So be part of the Big Paris Party and check out some of the colourful events and entertainment.

DAY 7 - Sunday 3nd October

Breakfast from 7.00am-10.30am in Paname Hotel Breakfast Room. Or free breakfast from 7.00am at the Hotel de Ville for the all nighter party goers!

9.30am Group Visits to Marché Richard Lenoir & Marché Beauvau St Antoine to gather food for the grand farewell picnic.

1.00- 5.00 pm Grande Gourmet Farewell Picnic (location tba).

Evening – Local Farewell Bar ”Crawl”.

DAY 8 - Monday 4th October

Breakfast from 7.00am-10.30am in Paname Hotel Breakfast Room.

11.00am Check out of Hotel.

Transfer to Airport or other accommodation.

Please note that whilst every effort will be made to adhere to the above pricing, currency fluctuations beyond our control can affect final costs. A booking form is to be completed by all participants, followed by a non-refundable deposit of AUD $500 per person at the time of booking.
